We're starting to get questions about school supplies for the upcoming year! Here's what you need to know:

Thanks to the generosity of the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation — which raised $55,000 through community donations!!! — all elementary students will again receive free school supplies for the 2025-26 school year.

Bottom line: Elementary parents do NOT need to purchase basic school supplies.

For middle and high school students, school supply needs vary by class and teacher, but many students will likely need the following basics:

• About 4 composition books
• No. 2 pencils
• Pens
• Highlighters
• Folders
• Notebook paper

Each school — and sometimes individual teachers — will communicate specific supply needs closer to the first day of school. Please keep an eye on your email inbox and school websites for updates later in August.
